2026 CAMP DIRECTOR:

Stony Hill Stables, a multifaceted riding and training facility operating in the heart of the Hamptons, is seeking a Camp Director/instructor for June through Labor Day 2026. Stony Hill Summer Camp has been operating for 50+ years and has a devoted group of campers who return year after year. In addition to riding, grooming and horsemanship, our camp focuses on encouraging a spirit of good sportsmanship, positive attitude, and individual responsibility.   

Camp Director responsibilities include managing and teaching the camp program, coordinating camp activities, and supervising camp staff.  The position also includes teaching some private and group lessons to students of various ages and abilities.

The ideal candidate has experience working with children of all ages and riding abilities from beginner to intermediate. Enthusiasm, organizational skills and creativity are a must, as is the ability to foster a love of horses and riding in children through lessons, activities, and joyful time at the barn.  

Benefits include: a $1,500.00/week salary, a $1200.00 bonus paid upon completion of the contract term, and housing for the duration of the contract.  In addition, the camp director has an opportunity to earn an additional $100.00/week bonus by hitting certain financial marks by the end of summer 2026. While not guaranteed, the Camp Director typically receives an additional 20% of their salary in tips from camp parents. The opportunity to bring a horse is possible for the right candidate.
